The Blend
About Genmaicha
Genmaicha’s mild, refreshing fragrance makes it a popular drink for daily use. The aroma and flavour of the unpolished rice help at times when one feels tired or hungry, so it is a natural choice at work, at school, or during quiet study.
When processed, Gyokuro and Sencha are sorted into three parts: leaves, stems, and powder. Green tea that is mostly stems, called Karigane, is blended with popped whole-rice known as Genmai to make Genmaicha. The refreshing taste of the green tea with the full-bodied aroma of the rice makes an exquisite combination.
