This tea of exceptionally high quality is grown in the tea gardens surrounding the residence of Yamashita Toshikazu, Maiko Tea’s renowned tea expert. He watches daily over the growth and production of the tea plants, making sure every step of the cultivation and processing is done properly with great care and skill. This most exquisite premium green tea has a condensed sweetness, characteristic ambrosial fragrance, and extremely gentle flavour. The production of Yamashita’s famous Gyokuro is intensely tedious and time-consuming, and is therefore limited to only a few kilograms a year. The supreme quality of the tea leaves allow for their pleasant flavour to be maintained even up to 4-5 servings.
