From Master Craftsman Toshikazu Yamashita to Grandson Shinki
The gyokuro produced by Toshikazu Yamashita, a master of Gyokuro, is a famous tea that has won the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries award for the first time in 1966. In 1991, Mr. Yamashita demonstrated the skill of hand-picking tea leaves to the Emperor and Empress of Japan. Currently, the tea plantation is taken over by his grandson, Mr. Shinki Yamashita, and the Gyokuro made by Mr. Shinki won the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award at the 2019 “Kansai Tea Fair” for the first time.
