We Maiko tea is particular about quality because

Mr. Yamashita, our aunt, is a legend of world Japanese tea. Mr. Yamashita won the "Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries" first prize for the Kansai region 11 times and he showed the Teamaster Temomi-skill to Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress of Japan.

Now his grand son Shinki is taking over his techniques and keep working hard to deliver delicious cups to you.

In order to check the each condition of tea leaves we are using the smallest machines which we need to adjust by manually. We are not using automated machine because each tea has different characters, so we need to see manually and adjust by traditional Japanese tea master skill which we are taking over generations.

MaikoTea (MAIKONOCHA-HONPO) is located in Kyotanabe City of southern Kyoto, near Uji, an area famous for Japanese green tea. From our location one can gaze out over a serene landscape of vast tea fields. Kyotanabe City, blessed with a mild climate perfect for tea cultivation, is especially famous for producing Gyokuro tea. With utmost care and traditional skill, the world's finest Gyokuro, prized for its superb aroma, sweetness and full-bodied flavor is created here.

MaikoTea´s fundamental criterion lies in the reliable cultivation and production of green tea.
According to the principles of conscientious manufacturing and stocking we aim to maintain the same conditions as were given at the time of harvest.
